Founded in Florence in 1866 by Eugenio Migone Sr, the Industria Ceraria Migone has been handed down from father to son for five generations since 1866.
Until the 1966 flood in Florence, the headquarters of the company were situated in via Pisana, in the historic district of the Pignone, and also included the Villa Capponi Templi, still owned by the family,
Wedged between the historic district, the hill of Monte Oliveto and the river Arno, the first headquarters of the candle factory did not escape the swollen river, therefore the family had to move to the industrial area of Scandicci.
In 2006 the hearquarters of the Industria Ceraria Migone moved once more, this time to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, in the industrial area of Sambuca, its current location.

Our history
The history of the Industria Ceraria Migone began when Eugenio Migone Sr. founded it in 1866. In the 1930’s, the firm was handed down to one of his three children, Nicola Migone, with the name of “Ditta Migone Industria Ceraria, Saponi e Affini” [Candle Factory, Soaps and the like], handed down from one generation to the next, to reach our days. Today the Migones are firmly directing the company with Francesca e Sabrina Migone, representing the fifth generation.

Family Busines
When it first opened, the Migone Company specialized in soaps, and in the early  1900’s it had the exclusivity in Italy for the production of the powder soap “Candor”. and the “Fulgor” soap bar.
Until 2000, the company produced only church candles. The technology to produce them has evolved; thanks to the constant research and the investments in innovation, the ancient Industria Ceraria Migone was able to adequate its production and machinery to the most state-of-the-art technology, thus meeting the new needs of the market.
After WW II, during which the factory was commandeered by the German army, the company started its activity producing church candles and home candles, as well as coconut-oil beard soaps, paraffin rings for spool machines and tallow that was the basic material for candles and soaps.

The evolution of the Items - The Private Label sector
Always a leader in the church candles sector, thanks to the insight of  Francesca Migone, as of the early 1990’s the Industria Ceraria Migone specialized increasingly in the production of interior decoration candles and perfume lines including perfumes, eau de Cologne, home fragrances, soaps, lotions, bath salts, incense, pot-pourri, baby products, created for fashion, design and luxury brands.
Through the collaboration of the best essence makers and the quality of the items, Industria Ceraria Migone has reached the uppermost quality level.

The new collection “MIGONE since 1866”.
In 2016 the company celebrated 150 years of activity presenting the new project “Migone since 1866”, a collection of perfumes and interior decoration candles marked by the ancient sealing wax logo, redesigned to celebrate the history of the company.
The first five precious essences of the new “Migone since 1866” collection were unveiled in 2015. Five new scents ranging from the sylvan notes of Flame Red - Rossofiamma – to the cooler notes of Green Fig – Verdefico; from the intense fragrance of Amber Fire - Fuocod’ambra – to the salty perfume of Ultramarine – Oltremare to reach the delicate powder scent of Old Rose - rosantico

The Industria Ceraria Migone nowadays
The fragrances of the new collection have been designed carefully: from the selection of the materials to the creation of the candles, the essence of the  item is at the forefront during all the steps of their manufacture, focusing of the “Migone since 1866” collection.
The mixture of the essences and the traditional manufacture give these candles an exceptional fragrance and the ideal burning yield, a must for us, from 1866 until today.
