Japanese professor Kenji Matsuoka visits our Association
A visitor from Japan for the IHCA. Professor Kenji Matsuoka from Ryukoku University’s Faculty of Economics met the owners of three historic companies that are part of the Association. Kenji Matsuoka is carrying out a research study (which also involves the international association “es Hénokiens”) titled “International Comparative Study on Long-running Family Businesses”. The aim of the research is pointing out the characteristics of the “shinise” (long-running companies) in Kyoto. Right after coming back from Fontainebleau (France), where he attended the “Family Enterprise Day” international congress, Professor Matsuoka visited our associates, Torrini 1369, Florence, Antonio Mattei Biscottificio 1858, Prato (portrayed in the photo together with Francesco Pandolfini, member of the Pandolfini family and current manager of the historic biscuit factory), and Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella 1612, Florence. He interviewed the owners of the companies on several issues related to family management, company structure, production and export.
