Poli Distillerie choosen as a filming location for the Rai TV series “From Father to Daughter”
“Bassano has given a lot to Italian grappa. It is time for grappa to repay the city for what it has received over so many years. ” During the press conference held at Bassano del Grappa, Jacopo Poli, owner of the prestigious historic company founded in 1898 and member of the Italian Historic Companies Association, explained with these words the willingness and commitment of the Poli Distilleries to collaborate with RAI Fiction to the filming of the TV series “From Father to Daughter”.
It was easy to relate to the protagonists of the story, a family of distillers, and revive the sacrifices and difficulties that many distilleries faced over those years of radical technical and cultural change.
“Together with the screenwriters”, Jacopo Poli told us, “we analyzed the evolution of grappa over the XX century, thanks to the information gathered at Poli Grappa Museum’s library”.
The Poli family is pleased and proud that their own distillery has been chosen as the filming location of the TV series, and that director Riccardo Milani has found what he was looking for when he decided to film a story revolving around family, passion and craftsmanship.
The series, written by Cristina Comencini and starring Alessio Boni, Cristiana Capotondi, Stefania Rocca, Clizia Fornasier, Roberto Gudese, Alessandro Roia, Denis Fasolo, Angelo Monacelli, Domenico Diele, and Matilde Gioli, covers a time span from the 1950s to the 80s; it’s centred on the personal and professional vicissitudes of a family of distillers from Bassano del Grappa.
The show will air on Rai 1 on April 11th, 18th and 25th and on May 2nd 2017, in prime time.
