Here comes a prestigious award for one of our members, the “Mucci Giovanni 1894 Sugared Almonds Museum” (Andria). On Thursday, October 20th at 6 pm, the Museum hosted the naming ceremony of the street dedicated to the famous Apulian brand operating in the sweets industry.
The proposal from the historic company was accepted, in order to celebrate the business that gave such lustre to the city of Andria by producing its famous sugared almonds (“confetti”), appreciated all around the world, and by opening the first and only confectionary art museum in Southern Italy. With the full assent of the Prefecture and the Superintendence for the Architectural and Landscape Heritage, the City Council of Andria voted to rename “Via Gammarrota” as “Via Museo del Confetto”.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Andria, Avv. Nicola Georgie, the Mucci family, and His Exc. Mons. Luigi Mansi, Bishop of the Diocese of Andria.
